President's Message

Welcome to the official website of the Association of School Psychologist of Pennsylvania (ASPP)! We are an organization of professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality of educational and mental health services to children, youth and families in Pennsylvania. The Association of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania is dedicated to:

  • Promoting school psychological services that are research based and results in improved outcomes for students in Pennsylvania.
  • Supporting the unique role and contribution of school psychology in Pennsylvania.
  • Providing effective professional development for school psychologist.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with other professional organizations and agencies in Pennsylvania to achieve our common goals for students and their families.

The membership of the Association of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania (ASPP) continues to grow steadily and now exceeds 500 members. Our organization is the premier statewide professional association in school psychology. We are working hard to develop cost effective, practice-based professional development opportunities for school psychologists such as the ASPP-Penn State Conference, which this year will be held on October 17, 18 and 19, 2006 and our annual Regional Workshops. The professional publication, Insight, edited by Dr. Joseph F. Kovaleski, is an outstanding professional journal available to the ASPP membership that covers issues of state and national importance for school psychologist. We work with our state legislature to advocate for effective and therapeutic educational programming, the full implementation of IDEA and many other issues of importance to school psychologist in Pennsylvania.

I invite you to joins us as an ASPP member and to work with us to accomplish our vision for school psychology in Pennsylvania. Another important way you can help is by encouraging your colleagues to join ASPP. I wish to offer my personal and heartfelt thanks to all who have continued to support our very important organization!

Sincerely,

Richard E. Hall, Ph.D.
